1. Meeting called to order by President Tom Howe at 10:15 a.m. 2. Jack Playne read minutes of the November 20th, 2005 meeting. Randy Roloson made a motion to accept the minutes as read. Rick Dafoe seconded the motion. All were in favour and the Motion Was Passed to accept the minutes. 3. Financial Report: 4. Provincial
Gun Draw Report: The committee discussed many options for the upcoming Gun Draw; such as, fly-in hunts, fly-in fishing trips offered by a group called Outdoor Connection. Randy Roloson made a motion that the draw would consist of four turkey guns and the remainder of the prizes would entail gift cards from Bass Pro Shops. Glenn Kelley seconded the motion. All were in favour and the Motion Was Passed. John Todd was given a list of gun shops that are NWTF supporters and he will choose where the guns will be purchased from. The present Gun Draw budget is $20,000.00. 5. Old Business: Jack Playne reported that Prince Edward Island would be receiving turkeys by 2007 for release. 6. New Business: Kevin Townsend was questioned about the ongoing issue of not having the guns available at the banquets. Kevin explained that the problem lies with Canadian Customs. A request was made to have Kevin requesting that the NWTF ship the guns earlier to avoid this problem. Tom Howe discussed with the committee possible auction items that would be sent to the Grand Nationals. John Todd made a motion to give each Regional Director (Kevin Townsend and Mark Clifford) $1,000.00 each for a suitable auction item. Mike Evans seconded the motion. All were in favour and the Motion Was Passed. Tom Howe held
a draw to send a Jake and their parent to the states for an Extreme Jakes
Event, to be held in South Carolina. Joel Benner announced
that the Short Hills Longspurs would be holding a NWTF Sanctioned Shooting
Event on April 22nd, 2006 for NWTF members only. This will be a Still
Target Open Event for approximately 200 shooters. Jack Playne made a motion
to donate $250.00 for prizes from the Provincial Board in support of this
event. John Todd seconded the motion. All were in favour and the Motion
Was Passed. If you are interested in this event you can contact: Joel
Benner (President) Jack Playne announced to the committee that Mexico has formed its first NWTF Chapter and will be holding their first banquet in March 2006. John Todd and Martin Harting showed the committee a promotional sign they put together that could be used as displays at shows. Each sign would cost approximately $500.00. Kevin Townsend discussed with the committee the goal of increasing the support and numbers of the Wheeling Sportsman, Jakes and WITO numbers and the hope is to increase the overall membership of the NWTF to 1,000,000 members by year 2010. Kevin Townsend expressed that the Banquet Core package is to be used at banquets only and are not to be used for the chapter's subsequent events. Mike Malhoit and Patrick Hubert of the Ministry of Natural Resources addressed the committee about the Ministry of Natural Resources future involvements with the National Wild Turkey Federation Super Fund proposals. 7.
