Minutes of the NWTF Ontario Provincial Board Meeting

Meeting was held at Tom Howe's log cabin in Aylmer,ON.

Meeting was called to order at 10am.
17 Members were present

Tom read the minutes from the May 8th /05
Motion to accept the minutes by Randy Roloson and seconded by Glen Kelly - carried.

Financial report was presented - $ 17,345.63 in the bank account.
Motion to accept the financial report by Randy and seconded by John Todd -carried.

New Business:

Chris Patty discussed the Canadian NWTF sanctioned calling contest to be held in Maynooth , ON.

Tickets for the gun draw in Nov. are all distributed.

Nominations for the Jakes event in South Carolina should be in for the Feb/ 06 mtg.

Motion to begin planning for a similar Sporting Clay Shoot that took place the day previous
to the board meeting by John Todd seconded by Randy Roloson - carried.

Rick Defoe discussed a possible clothing purchase for Jakes events.

Nominations for the Provincial Board executive are still being accepted in writing for the
Nov 20/05 meeting at Bass Pro - send to - Jack Playne, 71 Conc. 12E,
Perkinsfield,ON LOL 2JO

Tom Howe handed out copies of our Constitution for State and Provincial Chapters of the NWTF
and election procedures were discussed (i.e. President votes as a tie breaker).

Alex update with respect to cheques being sent out to the past president ( Todd ),
we will sent postage paid envelopes to allow Todd to forward cheques to provincial treasurer.

Trevor Aljoe - all paid up for the truck cap.

New Business:

Chris Patty requesting cheques for the trophy's that are to be presented to the winners of the
sanctioned calling contest in Maynooth. Scott Grundy has signed cheque and forwarded to
President Mike for signing.

Discussion on Hunting Heritage Super Fund - Chris Patty brought up the need for night
vision equipment for the MNR in the Bancroft District.

Rick DeFoe discussed the Trap and Transfer program and providing funds to move turkeys
into areas of lower priority.

David Reed brought us up to date on the Wild Turkey Working Group including the possibility
of a third spring Turkey tag and fall hunting criteria that must be looked at prior to the introduction
of a fall turkey season. Once again David's update was worth going to the meeting if only to hear
the latest happenings in the province. David also asked all members to discuss requests with
Wildlife Section Managers in each area of the province.

A second regional director is being hired which should take some of the pressure off Kevin
Townsend in trying to service over 30 banquets in our large province.

Draw date for the Gun Draw is Nov,20th after the provincial meeting ( 8pm ). Draw to take
place in Alymer,ON to satisfy the requirements of the draw license. All cheques to be sent to
Tom Howe (R.R.#5 Aylmer, ON ) made out to the Ontario Chapter - NWTF , do not send cash,
send in all unsold tickets as well in the envelope that Tom sent each chapter.

A letter from Daniel Kenny who attended the NWTF Jakes day in South Carolina was read out ,
Daniel thanked us for sending him to the event and how much it meant to him.

Scott Grundy was unable to attend the meeting - minutes were recorded by Jack Playne.
